A few random thoughts of random stuff…

Have you ever noticed that usually, you are the last one to know when you have gone off course?  This was a thought I had today.  I think it’s true.  We are just so busy keeping going and trying to take care of whatever it is we need to do.  Then one day, wham! You realize you aren’t where you want to be doing what you want to do.  Then it’s time for a readjustment.  Usually, your friends aren’t surprised by the need for the readjustment, they are just politely supportive.   It’s good to have friends!

I am amazed by my boy.  This is him waving as his name is called at Bearstock.  Nerd.  :-)

He is growing so fast and is generally such a great kid.  I love him very much.  He cracked me up Thursday when we went to the oral surgeon.  (Happily, no surgery needed!)  We walked into the nice and sort of cushy oral surgery office and he says, “Wow, why are they rockin’ Peter Frampton?”  Lol, it cracked me up that he knows who Peter Frampton is and could identify the song.  It cracked me up even more that when the next song started he said, “What, now it’s VanMorrison? Why?”  He has turned out to have an eclectic taste in music and a good understanding of music history for the average 13 year old boy.  I knew that he would have unusual or eclectic tastes in music because we do but it’s funny to see it in action.  He likes what he likes and that’s a fact.  This evening while I was cleaning the basement (ugh!) he was doing his homework upstairs with some Eminem blaring.  From the Ramones to Eminem, that’s my boy!

I am happy for Marcus.  Softball season is a highlight for him.  It’s the opportunity to hang with the guys once a week.  He really doesn’t get the chance, have the excuse or find the time to hang out with a group of friends in a totally relaxed setting often enough.  They are holding their own with the game and really having fun hanging out in the parking lot after the game.  I received this photo in a text today…. The majority of these guys have played together off and on for the last 19 years.
