I have been enjoying my new job this week. I think it’s going to be great, of course there are a couple of caveats with the details but I am optimistic that they will work out soon. I am eager to start my “lunch bunch” group next week. Six boys in fourth through sixth grade! It should be fun and I sincerely hope that they will gain some skills through the next eight weeks. I am also enjoying the littlest kids, kindergarteners are pretty funny!
I have been struggling a bit with my piriformis and my knee. It is frustrating to have these injuries. However, mostly I feel pretty strong and fit just slow. Oh well, it’s not so awesome to be super fast anyway! I have a couple of weeks before the Wakarusa Off Road and I am ready to go the distance. Sandra will be a great pace setter for the running, I am the leader on biking and we are both ready for canoeing. Sadly, with the drought it is possible that they will have to shorten the canoeing and add to the biking/running. Ahh, well, we will rock it. Sandra says, “asses will be kicked!” At the very least it has been a great goal and I have been motivated and having fun. I am confident that we will have a blast the day of the event. I think that Shelley will be volunteering at the event, overall it will be a pretty awesome day.
Happily it is supposed to rain this weekend. I am optimistic that it will really rain this time. Our local aquifer is dangerously low and the plants and animals are stressed. I have been putting water out on the deck and keeping the bird bath filled for the birds. I really hope the drought breaks soon.
Tomorrow is Friday! It should be an easy happy day for me in the Valley Falls district, they are all super nice and I hope it will be a good day. I will also follow up on the details of the job with one of my bosses. Then, the best part will be going to our school for the annual Bearstock event. The board members cook hamburgers and hotdogs for everyone and everyone brings a side dish and it’s a community pot luck. Yay! Then they will introduce all of our fall sports teams and have some other fun activities for kids and families and it will be a nice evening at the school for our students. Marek and his buddies think it is a great time. I enjoy it as a great night for the kids and the school, I get to chat with lots of my peeps and we will still be home at a reasonable time.
Saturday will be fun times for me all day. I will be at the challenge course at the Villages preparing for a community challenge to be held on September 1st. Should be great unless it is actually pouring rain… oh, just thought of that complication. That would actually probably cancel the deal. hmmm, isn’t it great to have the suspense?!
Hope your weekend turns out to be fantastic!
Denise
