Seems like things are looking up around here. The weather suddenly improved and that makes me happy! Five inches of rain has greened up my world. My new job is going pretty well. I’m liking it and enjoying learning and doing new and different things. I will start my first group with some elementary boys – The Tiger Lunch Bunch! I hope it is fun and useful for them! I am also enjoying the kindergarteners and a special high school student who is completely inexplicable to due to a diagnosis of autism. She is talking to me a little (which is more than she is doing to anyone else) so I’m hoping to figure out how to help her communicate more. I am excited about the high school youth group at church. Even though we are a small group, we now have a plan and it’s a cool one. The curriculum we have is pretty interesting, it’s from Bluefish TV and a guy named Francis Chan. The first dvd series was good and started a good discussion. We also have a service project set up for this month! Yay! Marek is off to a good start at school both academically and in football. He will have his oral surgery consult tomorrow (hopefully this is just a precautionary move and there will be no surgery). Braces will start going on September 10th. Marcus is loving his softball team and is feeling good. He has done a ton of work on the shed repair/rebuild and it looks great. It was a lot of hard work. I’m glad he feels good about completing it.
AND… our 25th wedding anniversary is coming up SOON!! We are going to pull together a casual picnic party for the weekend with our families and a few friends. My in-laws will be visiting for the weekend. Sadly, my own parents are both scheduled to be out of town but it’s no big deal. Over all, the weekend should be wonderful. Fun times for all and a good celebration of our lives together. It has been a long and often difficult twenty five years but we have had many good times as well. I am really working on reinvesting in our relationship and reinvigorating our times together. Overall, I feel good about our relationship. I love Marcus very much. He is a great husband and wonderful father. He is also a great friend to me. He loves me no matter what forever and ever. This is a blessing to me.
All of these things I have randomly typed straight out of my brain are blessings to me! It is great that things are going well lately. I am thankful that they are! Making a list of the things going well helps push the ummm, other things that aren’t so awesome into the background and into a better light. Can’t focus on the crappy stuff when you have a list of awesome to review! Do it! Make a list NOW!
Here is a cow that made me smile. She was surprised by my visit. Moo!
