I really enjoyed most of the weekend. I spent a lot of time outside! The weather is perfect and the days are beautiful. I wish that we were out of school for about a month of this weather. It is perfect! I am ready to really get rolling in my new job. I will see students everyday this week. It has been interesting to visit the three different districts to see what each is like. They are all pretty different from each other. I feel like I’m dressing up to go to work although compared to business attire I’m still pretty casual. It feels pretty good! Loving it!
Here I am a kayaking girl.
This is actually from our trip down the Delaware. Loved that adventure! Trying to rest up my periformis this weekend so I did some kayaking, weights, yoga, walked and rested. Hitting the trail again tomorrow if I can fit it in otherwise it’ll be Tuesday. Tomorrow evening I am meeting a friend in Lawrence for a cold beverage and chatting. Can’t wait!
I was very touched and pleased on Friday when JDLA had a little party for me. I had the chance to say bye to the students in person so that they know I didn’t leave because of them and they had the chance to tell me they will miss me. Closure is a good deal all around. They made me some cards and presented me with a certificate of appreciation. I was there for 13 years! Weird, would never have thought that I would stay anywhere for that long. I’m ready for this next gig now. It has been enjoyable thus far and looks like it will be interesting. Also, the commuting is pretty great. It’s a built in music break! Gotta love some time to jam out on music of my choice accompanied by some scenery. I am planning a barn series, because I pass some cool ones on my way.
