Yay! The heat has at least momentarily broken effective today. It is gorgeous out! We turned off the air conditioner yesterday and enjoyed the fresh and cooool air! Today we had our first practice baseball game and it was a gorgeous day for relaxing at the ball field.
After that we had lunch and headed off to Lawrence for a youth group event, they did a video scavenger hunt. It was pretty fun. The kids had a great time making the videos and I had the honor of being the judge. Woohoo! It was pretty silly and entertaining. I had a great bike ride while the kids were off scavenging, I rode the bike trails out at Clinton Lake for about an hour. Man, I need more riding time! It was lovely.
Now, we are sitting here with all of the windows open relaxing with some baseball and bad TV – Suits. I am eagerly awaiting tomorrow afternoon. We are planning a kayak adventure! The two Julies and my friend Jenni are going to kayak down the Delaware River from Valley Falls to Lake Perry. It should be awesome and fabulous! I hope there is enough water to paddle the entire way!
Still catching up with sharing… we had a great stay-cation and visited the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. It was excellent. I hadn’t been there for awhile but it was very cool. This is a scene from the sculpture garden. We had fun together and loved seeing the art.

In other news, I am working hard to focus on all things good and positive in my life. I have been disgruntled but I think that my attitude and commitment to my family has been pretty crappy lately. I love my son and my husband and I am going to improve it now! I hope all is well with you! Enjoy this cool weather while it’s here.
