This is me reflecting in the chrome on my Harley Davidson Sportster.  It certainly could use some polishing up!  We enjoyed a ride on Saturday even though the weather was somewhat cool and gloomy.  It didn’t rain on us and the scenery was beautiful.  After the ride, we cleaned up and headed out to a 25th Wedding Anniversary Party.  Good food, good friends and a good time!  IMAG0200

This was a full day and I took a bunch of awesome pictures.  Most are in fact more interesting than this … However, I’m saving the best for a separate post.  I did spend some time in the garden and ate some of these awesome edible pod Oregon Snap peas.  Yum!  They are really exploding and I will soon be buried by peas!

What a super windy, windy, windy, windy day!  We chose not to ride so I puttered in the yard and garden all day.  I got the yard mowed and taught Marek how to trim with the push mower.  I spent some time weeding my garden and placed my new garden bench in a peachy spot!  One of my students made this in Industrial Arts and then gave it to me!!  Love it!!

Took my first LONG bike ride in years tonight.  Marek and I rode 6 miles last week but we were piddling around quite a bit since it was his first real ride on his new bike.  Tonight I set out to ride 10 miles in an hour or less.  I also selected a pretty hilly route.  Did it!  Nice feeling.  I am super excited about a new challenge in my life – expect explanatory post tomorrow!  Anywho… I rode past this awesome old school house and took a pause to snap a shot.  I purchased a cool bike bag to put my camera in for opportunities like this one!  I did doctor it up a bit with my windows live photo, choosing sepia instead of the black and white I originally used.  Nice ride and I like this shot.

I sure hope that your long weekend was good.  I spent quite a bit of time with friends in very enjoyable pursuits.  I also pondered those who have and those who continue to serve our country.  I am thankful for my freedom and for the people who have worked hard to keep me free.  Military service is very difficult for all involved.  It is often a pretty thankless job that complicates your family life and friendships.

I also miss my grandparents.  They were iall interesting and wonderful individuals and I would love to know them as an adult.  I learned that my step – grandmother died last Wednesday.  I’m so glad that we were able to visit her in March.  I am sure that it made her last months more joyful.  It made us pretty happy. Marek especially felt glad to spend time with Mary.  He is a sweet and emotional boy with excellent empathy for others.  It was easy to see that Grandma Mary was very thrilled to be with us and that made Marek feel special.

It is hard to lose our loved ones.  God has a plan for each of us.  Having faith helps make losing loved ones easier; knowing that they are going to Heaven which is better than anything we can imagine now.

I’m writing future posts in my head right now!  Stories tomorrow!
