It has been a HARD week! Good thing I enjoyed my weekend last week, huh? Things have been super hard at school. Several people have been ill – boo! Short of staff and times are tough. I always have to remember that our students struggle with transitions. The transition to summer is pretty big and especially tough for some who have not enough at home. My job is full of disappointments and triumphs. Some weeks just tend to have too many of one or the other. Did I mention that I have massive poison ivy? Yep, careless garden girl! Pooey! Today, Thursday, was better. Thank God!
This afternoon we were to go to see a high school baseball game at the T-Bones stadium (rescheduled from last week – sadly, Marcus wasn’t able to attend today due to work.) A giant storm blew in at the end of the day. It was an amazing sky. A dichotomy of bright, shiny, blue and dark, ominous storm clouds. Sadly, since I was driving Marek and his friend to the game, where it was not raining, I felt that I couldn’t stop every minute to get the best shot! We all waited at the stadium, allowing for much chatting and catching up in chilly wet weather. We all enjoyed it despite the fact that it was cancelled in the end! When they finally pulled back the tarp and checked the field, they determined that it was too wet to play. We decided to go to dinner. We decided on an out of the ordinary dinner (we rarely go out to dinner) and we went to Cheeseburger in Paradise. Yummy! Fried pickles! I had some delicious pasta and shrimp. Tasty! On the way home, we were not hoping to make the game so I stopped to take a few pictures. Awesomeness! Once home, a nice walk with the dogs. And this… #106… and this bonus shot … Kansas in all it’s beauty!
Ahhh, God is good. A cleansing rain, a walk outside, time with family and time with friends. Tomorrow will be better yet again. Many plans for quality time this weekend. Yes!
It is exceedingly important to focus on the positive, small or large it is well worth the effort to wrench your view away from the sad, disappointing and heartbreaking aspects of life to see the beautiful and wonderful moments within each day! Do it! I hope your day is full of wonderful moments.
