Sunday is for Mothers!

Wow!  It is already Tuesday night.  Mother’s Day was awesome.  I greatly enjoyed a day with my family.  I am so blessed with a family that loves me!  My wonderful husband TOTALLY surprised me with a gift of a new camera.  It is a Nikon D3100 Digital SLR and it is AWESOME!  It is more than just a point and shoot digital camera – it is a more of a photographers camera.  I was surprised because I was wishing for a better camera but really couldn’t justify one.  Marcus is SUPER sweet to have noticed and divined that this would be the perfect gift.  Exciting.  More pictures to come!  This is about the sixth shot I took.  These are mom’s African Violets, aren’t they pretty?  DSC_0012

And here is a shot of my wonderful, beautiful, smart, amazing, energetic, awesome, fabulous, helpful, creative, artistic, kind, generous, caring, supportive, one of a kind MOM!  She is GREAT and I LOVE her!  I am most excited about spending all day next Saturday with her!  We are going to visit  a cool (seeming – have never been there) greenhouse for a class to “create a succulent bowl”.  HAHA!  This is really a container planted with succulent plants.  We have both always wanted to visit Arnold's Greenhouse down in Leroy, Kansas.  Each year at the Garden Show we wander their booth and find numerous creative things that we would like to explore.  It will be a good day!  So eager to look forward to this!

My other thoughts turn to friends and students who don’t have mother’s this day – or any other.  To have your mother die is unimaginable to me.  I know it is an inevitable loss for all children but it will be so impossible.  I am happy my mom is getting into getting healthy, she will be around for many more years.  I also think of friends and students who have moms who don’t really attend to them.  WORRY!!!  NAG!!!  Check in with your kids, be a mom!  How sad to be missing a mom who is helpful, caring, attentive, hard and full of quality parenting!  Everyone deserves a mom (parent) who is taking care of them.  Even when developmental moments take us to a place of conflict, it is best if we have a parent who teaches us – even when it is tough to take! Thank God for our mother’s!  Hope you are loving your peeps these days!
