#115 on Mother Daughter Day!

Yep, this is my awesome Mom!!  Isn’t she beautiful?  We had a GREAT day together.  Uninterrupted time to chat and be together hasn’t happened very often lately so this was a refreshing day for both of us.  We leisurely drove south to visit the town of Burlington, Kansas for lunch then on to Arnold’s Greenhouse near Leroy, Kansas.  What an impressive layout and amazing plant selections.  We enrolled in one of their classes, “Succulent Bowls”.  Pretty cool!  They are four season bowls because they can be out all summer and in all winter!  DSC_0511

My succulent bowl…

This is me.  Not my best look, can’t really explain the boob issue other than to say apparently layers aren’t always flattering!  Ha!  I really like my succulent bowl though and can’t wait to not kill it at home.  Also, my hair looks pretty good if I do say so myself!

On our way home, we were exploring some of the places we used to go when I was a kid.  You know, back in the day when we would all load up and “go for a ride”.  We would drive the country roads looking at the scenery and finding awesome places to play or explore.  We used to always go to a low water bridge,  We played in the water, hiked around and caught loads of bugs (my brother was into entomology).  Well, all this exploration took place at least thirty years ago.  We couldn’t really remember where the bridge was exactly but we set out to find it.  And find it we did!!  It was awesome!  Brought back many memories of hot summer days cooled and soothed with a visit to this bridge.  It is in the wilderness outside of Topeka.  We will be going back again!
