Yay, I survived June!! It was fraught with much action and adventure. I really enjoyed some of it. I feel great that Marek had the opportunities that he did throughout the month. Robotics, Diabetes Camp, camping out, hiking around, 4H Camp, Geology Field trip etc. Several of these were things that I really enjoy doing as well. Camping, hiking and Geology spring to mind! I also enjoy helping youth explore their creativity and helping with the arts and crafts at Diabetes Camp was cool. However, I am looking forward to July!!
Although we have plenty to do in July, it will be more free form and random. My favorite! A few details…
1. Cryin’ Out Loud plays tonight at the Slow Ride Road House in Lawrence! Yipee! This is my husbands’ band and I truly enjoy them. I also enjoy the time with friends to dance and chat and relax! It’ll be a good night. 2. The in-laws are coming! Yep, they will be here for the long 4th of July weekend. This is great and will be especially good for Marcus. (It does mean that I will be forced to attempt cleaning in a rush today and tomorrow – not looking forward to that).
3. I am looking forward to piddling around with Marek on some projects we enjoy. Arts and crafts are on the agenda. We are also planning to read a couple of books together – To Kill a Mockingbird tops the list.
4. Marek and I want to spend a day poking around the stores on Mass Street together. I’m hoping that Marcus could join us for this as well. Just window shopping and exploring. We usually only get the chance to do this thoroughly in the summer, it’s a bit of a tradition. We like to eat at Rudy’s Pizza.
5. Working in the garden! Yay! Love to piddle in the garden and I am looking forward to spreading the pile of mulch I recently received from the electric company line clearing guys. It smells SO good! 6. Time to wander. Motorcycle rides, scenic car rides, hiking and maybe canoeing. Photo opps galore!
7. Adventure Race!! Scared but excited, I am looking forward to the event on July 23rd. I also really have been enjoying training for this. Wogging through the forest, biking through the forest (this hurts but I’m getting better at it) and canoeing. It is a great excuse to gather with a friend and talk and exercise. I have great friends willing to train with me – maybe future race partners? Jennifer is almost ready!
There are easily more than 7 things to look forward to in July. These are the top of the head list. It’s good to have things to look forward to, keeps the optimism high! For now, my immediate plan is to finish up my coffee, start a load of laundry and go take a run before it hits 100* - which should be in a couple of hours. It is a beautiful sunny day and I am going to do 3 miles on the easy trail. Hoping I can get the house in shape so that tomorrow I can do a long run in the morning… or maybe I should bike. Oh, choices! Love it!
I hope you are looking forward to some things in July! Maybe we can go wogging, biking or canoeing together! Have a great weekend!
