The end of summer ball. Well, Marek’s ball tournament was played out and the received 3rd place. Pretty cool. Marek made a couple of really excellent plays. This was our last night game, they lost and then played three back to back games on Saturday morning in the heat. They scored 43 runs in the first two games but couldn’t continue for the third game. They were just played out in the heat. (In case you aren’t based in Kansas, we have been having a heat wave – 18 days of triple digits.)
I offer two for #184 Saturday July 23rd, 2011 ![]()
I missed the first two baseball games and part of the third because I was doing my long anticipated ADVENTURE RACE!!! It was AWESOME!! We received first place in the women’s division. YIppee!! More details after I have caught up with my life but here is a teaser for you! The spoils of our win!! It was so much FUN!!
Playing with the camera! A brief storm passed through the area. Lightening is hard to capture but I will master it eventually! This was my favorite of the shots I took.

It was strangely cool (not 100*) Tuesday morning. I took a bit of time to relax with a book and some coffee in the garden. Still love the bench that I made with my friend Asa a couple of summers past. Pogo likes it too!!

Garden Girl is having a bit of a garden failure this summer. The heat and the activities have minimized the garden time. I will revive the garden this fall! I still love my garden though. I little garden therapy is always welcome!
Today was my wonderful mother’s birthday. She is 69 years young! I love her dearly. She is an inspiration to me. We had a lovely day together today hanging out and relaxing in the pool. We ended with a family dinner and a scenic drive home!
A family day trip to the Negro League Baseball Museum in downtown Kansas City was AWESOME Friday. However, no cameras in the musuem. I was sitting outside waiting for my slower males and snapped this of an historic Jazz Club. The museum is located at 18th and Vine which was the heart of the booming KC Jazz era. I love old jazz. Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald the big band sound. It was an interesting day of history. We enjoyed each others company as well!
