July 6th, 2011 The Jolly Juniors completed a giant landscaping project at the Fairgrounds today. It was actually pretty fun since the club pulled together to work together – great team work. These girls were silly!
July 7th, 2011 Marek and I enjoyed spending the afternoon with the A1C group (diabetes support group) at a farm near Overbrook, Kansas. This rope swing kept all the kids busy throughout the afternoon. The swing and barn are old and pretty awesome. The knots at the end of the rope were somewhat hazardous on the slide downward! It was a good time. There were mostly boys which worked great. All ages blended together to play, talk and enjoy the hospitality of the family. They are very nice and simple, inspiringly Christian.
July 8th, 2011 The Adventure Race is 15 days away. I have been feeling a bit sluggish. Today I wogged 4 miles on the trail. I was a bit slower than I would hope but I didn’t stop and I could have gone farther if I had the time. I guess that means that I will at least be able to finish! Yay! I will have the chance to get some training in this weekend. It is supposed to be hot which is good for me – just PLEASE no rain!!
I am finally settling into summer. I love a day where I can wake up and randomly make a plan. Knowing what you need to do and deciding when or if to do it is actually pretty amazing. What a luxury to choose your own schedule! We are having some fun, being creative and enjoying some family time. Fitting in some cool activities… looking forward to a canoe trip down the Kansas River soon!
