Thankfulness is for Tuesday! (and #77)

DSC_0992

I am thankful for my son, who humors me as I experiment with Photography.

Today, I am thankful for my job and the multitude of opportunities to take kids OUTSIDE on beautiful days like today.  I attended a luncheon with five students in advance of a water rally where we will present a program to 178 elementary students!  We had fun hiking around the wilderness!

DSC_1003 I am thankful for my good health.  Hearing bad news for friends and acquaintances this week has been sad and has heightened my awareness of the importance of my own health.

I am thankful for my faith which has come in handy twice with students in the last week.  I had the opportunity to discuss God’s plan for each of us with a student this week.  She recently survived a suicide attempt, but revealed that she continues to feel suicidal.  She decided that she should return to a hospital setting.  I was able to assist her in this.  She told me that she realized that her survival indicates that God is in control and has further plans for her.  She really feels motivated to seek stability in her life now.  We had a good talk, I hope and pray that she will be successful in this effort.

I am thankful for my family and friends who fill my life with joy and hope on a daily basis.

I am thankful for the opportunities each day to see and hang out with people of quality who need me and who I need as well.  It is good to be needed by kids and by friends and by family.  I feel that I am where I need to be at this time in my life.  I am working to be open to opportunities for change.

I am thankful for the opportunity to feel fulfilled and challenged in my personal and professional life!  (Truth be told, it is hard to feel thankful for this sometimes.  Sometimes feeling challenged or overwhelmed is draining.  However, I do feel that I am touching the lives of others and that all is worth the energy expenditure.  Without this I think I might be bored!)

Here’s hoping that you have some similar feelings!  Are you able to find fulfillment in your life in some arena of your life?  Look for it!  Where are you most fulfilled?  What are you doing?  Once you ponder this, you should definitely try to replicate those activities!  I am working to do the same!
