#75 (couldn’t choose posted two!)

This is 75a! Today was beautiful!  Actually it was HOT!  Strangely 85* on the 3rd of April.  Weird!  However, I had the happy opportunity to take a hike with the outdoor adventure kids from 4H.  We learned about some mammals with the skins and skulls from the Wildlife and Parks folks.  Coolness.  Then we hiked down to Slough Creek.  Along the way we found these early wildflowers.  Gorgeous in the sunlight.  Hiking back to along the same trail tomorrow to take a minute to photograph the bleeding heart like flowers I didn’t capture!  Good excuse for another hike!  I really enjoy taking the kids on hikes.  They are all so full of excitement to learn and see what is out there.  From hickory nuts to acorns they love to find things.  We found lots of tracks, the woods were alive with cries of, “Denise! Over here!” “Look at this!”  Fun times!  We got into the creek, some with shoes and some without.  We hiked a short 2.4 miles in about an hour – but we paused to play in the creek for at least 20 minutes!  Rocks, shells, fish and cool sticks!  Awesome!  I enjoyed the hike, it felt great to move and to teach!

When we got home, I piddled around with some chores around the house.  We had all the windows open with fresh allergy laden air blowing through the house.  The temperature began to drop so I wandered out to check the skies as the storm arrived.  Eventually, we had thunder and lightening with insane hail!  But, OH, how I love the sky!  75b!

I have so enjoyed this weekend!  Friends, family, motorcycle ride and hiking!  I hope you had the chance to get out and do something that you enjoy this weekend!  A walk? Relaxing on the porch?  Hanging out with friends? Gardening?  Maybe all of these?  I know I did!!  A weekend outside AND multiple quality friend activities?  YAY!  I’m tired but recharged and ready for another week.  (Note, some cool things are on the list for the coming week!)  I’m happy to be looking forward to good times during what I know will be a tough week!   Hope you are optimistic also!!
