This is an awesome piece of creative writing from my student, Jon Blevins.
He has agreed to be my GUEST BLOGGER and share his poem with you! Jon is a great guy, who I have really enjoyed having in class this year. He is full of deep thoughts. Earlier this week he came to class and shared his poetry notebook with me. It’s AWESOME! So… I asked him to guest blog. Here is the poem that I asked him to share….
All the Little Things
Lying sleepless at night
feeling all of the fright
from all I’ve done
from what I’ve become
for everything that I am
for all I stand
Really, is this me?
Tell me, cause I can’t see
for I live in the dark
and I’ve been hurt in the heart
I still try not to be mad
cause all it does is make me sad
so I turn to the Little Things
hope that happiness it does bring
then a little hope I find
and my sorrows I leave behind
then I find I’m a little happy
and then my life I can see
all because of the little things
without them I would die
about that I won’t lie
for with one smile that I gain
I can forget all my pain
all because of the little things
a look from someone that I see
of good times can remind me
cause these things I feel alive
and then I’m alright
so when I’m lying sleepless at night
feeling all of my fright
I just think of the Little things
and feel all the hope they bring
I really liked the poem. I think a lot of people can relate to feeling scared, sad, hurt and in pain. It does help to think of the little things and know that the good little things are the most important. If we can do good little things for others, then maybe it can make up for some of the bad little (or big) things we've done.
