Well, it was a weekend full of beautiful weather and yard reclamation! I was such a garden slacker all summer. I can’t really even use the excuse of the heat since I was obviously running and biking all over the place in the heat. I don’t know, I was just overwhelmed with the garden situation I guess. Too big and too much to keep going. I decided recently that I would like to make some major changes in my garden.
Killing a large number of tomato horn worms warmed me to the idea of killing stuff!! The garden has evolved randomly instead of planfully and that is part of the problem. I hate to kill stuff, especially things that bloom so when things spread or show up I just garden around them. NO MORE!!
I have axed several things that I don’t like. Sadly, it is hard to dig up, pull out and kill Dogwood bushes but I resolve to do it!! I might also take some before and after shots – I already worked for a couple of days without doing that so they will really be after and much later shots. I love parts of the garden. These flowers are awesome, they bloom all summer long and are really tall. I am actually good at creating nice landscape plans when given a blank slate. So I am going to get this garden shaped up
killed off and then pretend it is a blank slate. If there is something in the way I don’t like, I will remove it! Feeling better about the garden after a weekend of hard labor is GREAT!! What is great for you? Do you have a garden going crazy or dying from the heat? Making a plan seems to help… just sayin’! Have a great week!!
