210, 211 and 212! Summer is winding down …

August 17, 18 and 19 Mark the beginning of the school year and another transition period.  Life is full of constant transitions I guess.  Marek started Junior High Wednesday, it’s 7th grade!  Crazy how time flies past.  I am also a little sad that we rushed the photo op and that this is the best shot.  Poor lighting but a handsome boy in his new outfit!

Thursday evening … I don’t know what this is but I planted them on purpose from seeds I saved.  They are strangely beautiful blooms that last for one day and they smell divine…

Friday afternoon winding my way home… Appalachia or a third world country where life is slow and simple…  nope!  Northeast Kansas!!  Every day it’s something else, today the chicken yesterday some goats, last Sunday an entire herd of cows…

Well, I do love where we live, although the pace is not as relaxed as the free range chickens might at first lead you to believe.  (I still wish I had some chickens of my own!)  I have had a good week, finding time to exercise and spend time in the outdoors.  Finally, not 100*!  It has been beautiful.  Marek has had a great week of football practice and Junior High. Strangely, he loves football.  He is booked up everyday afterschool which is allowing me to take a kayak trip, wog or bike as well as run a couple of errands each day.  It will be a good routine until the season ends.  We all end up home at the same time for dinner and family time.

I hope you are finding some positives in your transitions.  Enjoy!
