gratitude it is…

Additional pondering on gratitude.

1.  Why is it so hard to express our gratitude to those who are closest to us?  I see that sometimes those closest to use are perhaps too familiar, and potentially irritating due to this factor.  Really, it is very helpful to be grateful for every little thing!  Small details that make our lives easier, the basics of the running of our lives, these are the details that are important and most often taken for granted.  Our friends and loved ones will be grateful for our expressions of gratitude!

2.  Gratitude is actually an attitude, an outlook, an approach to life.  With gratitude we focus on each day and remember our blessings – large and small.  This in turn leads us to have a positive and thankful attitude which inclines us to be kind, giving, generous, helpful and supportive to others.  A good mood, positive thoughts and positive expressions to our people make every day a better day!  The link I referenced yesterday even provided a synopsis of the research that supports this – although I think it’s a fairly logical link that can be tested by our own expressions!  That’s right!  We can do our own research!  Try it out today!  Make a gratitude list of the tiniest things about today.  Makes you think.  I am adopting an attitude of gratitude!
