action has left me lying low today. All was good, in fact, much was pretty fun and awesome. Happily, it was also mostly beautiful weather but today was HOT. It’s no shock that as we near July it is hitting 100 but it made for an excellent lazy Sunday afternoon.
Marek was off at 4H Camp for part of the week and I had no trouble filling the days. I relaxed, read my book, worked in the garden, caught up with some friends, took a few wogs and spent an afternoon with my mom. Took care of some work at JDLA but mostly I lounged around and read my book!
Marek got home just in time for the annual Old Settlers Carnival. It was actually gorgeous weather for a change. We enjoyed going every single night. Each night is different and I had the chance to catch up with a wide variety of friends. Thursday I tracked down former students, always good to get some hugs and hear some stories. I was able to tell several of them about leaving. Friday was the Block Party. It was fun! Although the band was good, they weren’t my normal fare. They essentially played lots of popular music from the last 3 decades, songs you could sing along to for everyone. I had fun dancing, because I love to dance! I thought it was awesome that the girls came and danced with us and eventually they tracked the boys down and it was a dance party! Fun! This age is actually pretty fun. The kids can be absolutely ridiculous and funny. They are still willing to play and goof off. They were hilarious dancing with us. The girls are really good dancers, guess that goes with girls! The boys were mostly just funny!

Saturday was a good day, I got in a visit to the Lawrence Farmer’s Market and a wog on the trails then a bit of gardening and back to Old Settler’s. We watched the parade, worked the Ball Association Ice Cream Social and then settled in the beer and wine tent to listen to a friend’s band. They were fun and the beers were on sale since it was the last night! Overall a good but tiring weekend!
I have spent a bit of time working on a plan for next week. I think it will be good. The trick is to schedule time to do the stuff you need to do instead of only stuff you want to do. Ha! So I have penciled in time to work out, work on Geology, go to the pool and help Marek clean his room. It should be flexible and yet keep me on track. Tomorrow we start out with 6am football weights and workout! I also made a list of things to get done so I am ready to go to bed and start a new week! Hope you have a plan full of cool stuff for your week! Go forth and conquer!! And have fun along the way!
