And the news is out!

Big news in the house today people!!  As of this morning, I have accepted a job change.  I will continue to be employed at Keystone Learning Services but I will no longer be stationed at JDLA.  This has been an incredibly difficult decision as I have been at JDLA for 14 years and have loved MANY, MANY things about the program, the job, the days, the students.  However, the last couple of years have been very difficult for a variety of reasons and I have been feeling somewhat professionally stagnant.  I can do the JDLA job without really trying.   I only want to do my best, the students deserve no less.  I know I have made a significant difference in the lives of many students.  I have remained in touch with or nurtured friendships with several former students.  They are all special to me.  HOWEVER, it is time for a new chapter in my professional career.  I am ready for new challenges, new dreams and new interests in my professional life and, no doubt, it will carry over to my daily life.  I am excited and scared and sad and eager all at the same time.  This will be a very difficult transition for me and maybe for some of my coworkers and students. I hope to make it as smooth as possible.  I will be sharing the news as personally as possible with as many people as possible as rapidly as possible.  I am meeting with the principal tomorrow morning.  After that, I will be making calls and tracking people down for in person sharing.  For those of you who read this, please consider it your personal sharing (cuz this is actually a sort of personal space for me) and feel free to follow up with me if you would like.

I am going to build up to more excited and less scared about this over the next couple of weeks.  EEK!!  Change!!  and… #100!
