News from the field... geology field...

Well, it is after 11pm on Saturday night.  I am lying on an old army cot in a room at the Newton Recreation Center listening to some tunes and the boys play zombies on the ipad.

Tired but wide awake. We are on the annual 4H Geology Field trip.  Lots of driving, dirt, rocks, fossils and minerals.  The stops today were not really all that amazing.  Although several people found trillobites, which is super cool.  We have had fun so far.  The best part so far was the quiz bowl. I was the moderator and Marek helped set up the buzzers. It was fun and funny, thank God!  We all laughed and the kids had fun.  Marek impressed me, he answered a lot of questions.  He is a good boy, I've been really proud of him this weekend. He is so solicitous of others.  He introduced himself and shook hands with dad and son sharing our camp room and really helped out a lot.

This trip has become a fun tradition for Marek and I. We are missing some of our friends this year but still having fun.

I guess I should try to go.to.sleep but my mind is awake even though my body is beat.  Hope you have had a great day.
