You are a beautiful woman...

Huh?! So today I was feeling bedraggled and a bit bloated. My face is breaking out and I need a haircut, church was over and I was working to catch up to my family. (I had to stop and pee out my coffee!). As I was politely but steadily working towards the door, I said, "Have a good week!" to an older gentleman I don't really know. I kept moving but he stopped me with a comment, "You are a beautiful woman." Whoa! Weird but SO warm, sincere and nice. I needed that! I smiled, said, "thank you, you made my day!" and hit the door. He really did make my day. I'm not all about physical beauty but it is nice to know that someone thinks you are beautiful. Pretty cool that he said it out loud. I think often comments like that aren't said.

The bible study today was on 2nd Thessalonians chapter 2. We were discussing the verse 17 that says "encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.". While we discussed several verses, this last verse ended with a discussion about how we can strengthen and encourage one another. Small and gentle kindness towards each other, prayers for each other, reaching out! Little things make a difference and when you are the giver of this care, it changes your view/life/perspective just as much as when you are the recipient.

Maybe we should all ponder saying nice things to each other more often. Even little things warm a heart or lift a spirit as long as they are sincere and truely meant. That man today bumped my spirits and made me smile. I felt better and shared that feeling (I hope) with others. I will try to say more of the nice things I think and feel out loud. Maybe I'll make someone's day someday!
