Mammoth cave was pretty awesome! It is actually mammoth! Not many super interesting features like stalactites and stalagmites but HUGE spaces and a very interesting history. We walked 2 miles underground up and down some pretty steep grade and something like 400 stairs. Pretty interesting and cool but mostly dry which is a plus!
It is interesting for our family to vacation. We like to do stuff. We are busy at home and fairly busy on vacations. We enjoy learning things and going to new places. We are not the only visitors here this week which has added some interest to our tripr. Alicia's sister Laura and her friend Karson are here as well. We enjoyed a mass trip today. When we came "home" Matt made us some burgers to go with our cold beers and we played cards. We were able to play hearts! Love that game, too fun!
Tomorrow will be an interesting day. We are off to Louisville in the early morning. We will visit the Louisville Slugger factory first. Then we will swing into the Harley Davidson Dealership to pick up a T-shirt and browse. Next off to the Churchill Downs racetrack for a little exploration. We will squeeze in some lunch and return to Fort Knox where we will check out the Patton Museum and Matt's work area. Coolio!
Marek loved this visit. The factory was totally interesting and the musuem was excellent.
We will end the day with dinner at Caroline's Schnitzel Barn - which speaks worlds with a name.
We are getting into our groove, lots to see and do but we do it on our own time with joy in the company! I'll add some pics to this later! Now I need to sleep! Marek and Pogo are already dropping off. Marcus and his buddy Matt are happily watching the Rolling Stones movie, Gimme Shelter - again! ahhhh.... relaxation!
The sign says, "Happiness is being married to a GERMAN!" Hahahahaha! The schnitzel was excellent as was the company. Fun times were had by all!
