Well, we are having a stay-cation this summer. We have had a hard time getting out of town. The dumb pop-up debacle slowed us down and we are on a mission to get our finances in order – moving to zero debt. Great idea but somewhat tough at the first… we are paying everything off. Therefore, we will be having a stay-cation. Today was a day of home based puttering and task completion. We got a variety of tasks completed included getting the tar paper on the shed roof. Woo hoo! Tomorrow we will head into the KC area to explore and visit places we have never been. Odds are that we will spend several days into KC area. We have made a list of things we would like to do and places we would like to visit. Truman Museum and Library, World War 1 Museum, Nelson Atkins Art Museum, Steamship Arabia …. and several other places. Should be fun. I love to explore places with the guys when we have no deadlines or alternate responsibilities. It is awesome to just head out and do whatever!! (Dream places will be visited when we are out of debt!)
In other news, I found out today that the whole job thing is screwed up – shocking. I asked to leave JDLA for a variety of reasons but one of them was the attraction of being part of the newly organized program designed to serve elementary youth with severe needs. SO… today I called my boss to touch base about the back to work schedule and got the news that I won’t be part of that program after all. It’s a funding stream issue but it is still a bummer. Now I will be an itinerant school social worker at three different schools. Ugh. I will be happy to move on but sad that it won’t be to what I had planned.
We are getting ready for the 4H fair which is next week. Marek has several things to enter one of which is photography. He has a good eye and an interesting approach. Here are his 4 entries….
These first two are obviously computer manipulated. I love the first one, an alley in KC near the Sprint Center. Very interesting and appealing to me. The flag is cool as well then these – straight out of camera shots. 4H photography allows four entries regardless of the category.
Love this bridge. You can tell that we did an urban shoot day after visiting grandma at KU Med. Turns out that Marek loves architectural photography. Hope he does well.
I am looking forward to this week of rambling with my guys. Love them and love exploring places with them. We will have a good time and fit in some relaxation time as well! Hope you are finding some things that are entertaining to you! Enjoy!!
