We had the first big adventure post major surgery. We had an appointment to check in with the surgeon but he ended up with an emergency surgery so…. we ventured to the new Flint Hills Discovery Center in Manhattan. Yay! It was awesome! I love the wilderness as you know so this museum was a great fit. Stories about the tall grass prairie then and now… gorgeous photography, cool video presentations about history and the future on the prairie. Enjoyed with my mom and my boy! 
It was a lovely day. Mom is feeling better and healing well. We will make it to the doctor soon. She is ready to get back to her enjoyable life. Soon, it will be her 70th birthday!! We will have a small day to enjoy it now and later, when she is at peak, we will have a big excitement! I had fun with my boy on this trip as well. He is hilarious and has a great imagination. So goofy!
Make a day trip with someone you enjoy soon! The Flint Hills Discovery Center is air conditioned and entertaining and it can always be followed with another Manhattan activity or lunch!
