On the road again! #53

Day two of our trip, it's the long driving day. I haven't filled in the whole story on the trip so I thought I'd fill some time with the plan. We are heading to Washington DC! Fun times ahead! We will see my old friend Traci and her family. Exciting! This is the traditional family driving trip. We will drive around 2400 miles in 9 days, yep, we're goofy. We first drove to visit friends in Vine Grove, Kentucky. They were sort of on the way and we love them so we stopped for the evening. Pizza, music and mayhem were on tap last night. We had fun and I am soooo glad we stopped to see them. It's hard to be far from people you love.

Now, we have driven through Kentucky and West Virginia as we head for DC. It's beautiful country. Hills, mountains and trees. I would love to return here someday for some camping and hiking, maybe motorcycle riding! Maybe someday in the future!

#53 a drive by with the iPhone! Not much photography going on in this car during this 11 hour drive! Lots of eye candy though. Beautiful scenery on this route. We are bearing down on DC now, having passed from West Virginia into Maryland. Again, gorgeous. Maybe someday I'll hike the Appalachian Trail, or a portion of it. That would be super cool!

We will soon be enveloped by the Callandrillo family with fun for all. Traci and I have been friends since high school. She and Tony have two boys who call Marek "our 6th cousin"! Eager to hang out and relax with them. We will base from their house for four days while taking in the sights and history of Washington, DC. I'm excited to see things I've never seen and learning more about our history and our Capitol. I'm also eager to share this experience with Marek. It is always exciting as a parent to watch your child learn and enjoy.

The last stage of this journey will take us to Ohio to visit my step Grandma. She is 82 this year and we haven't seen her since Marek was a baby. It will be wonderful to connect with her for an evening. She is a pretty special grandma. Our last hurrah will be The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Marek is super excited about this as is Marcus. It will be an interesting stop. We will leave Cleveland on Friday night when the museum closes and head for home. Next Saturday will be another long drive.

Well, that's our adventure. It should push all burn out and stress right out of us! What's your next adventure? What are you looking forward to this spring? Hope you have an adventure planned to break up your burn out! I'd love to hear about it!
