Ok, so we made it out on a date night last night. We went to see the movie Crazy Heart. Very well acted. However.... There was no major drama or suspense. Nothing particularly compelling about the characters. I think it was not a particularly interesting story.
Bottom line alcoholism is bad. It can cost you your health, your career and relationships. If you have some reason to get sober, GREAT. You might be able to salvage much of your life but some things are not salvagable. You must go on and do your best in the new sober world.
Meanwhile, the character development was weak. We don't know what was so intriguing about the older (57), alcoholic, washed up, over weight, crass, country singer that the female character, who was cute, thirty-ish and a single mother on the road to sucess would go for him at all, let alone stay with him. Good acting but mediocre story line.
Meh.
