It is a compelling story because it is true and because depression is such a common challenge. The book is well written and honest. It is sad and true and I think it explains how depressed teens really feel. At some point during the story, you begin to think, "buy why were you so depressed?" The answer that he shares is that, "I don't really know." This is such a true answer! There is never any one reason - just millions of reasons and no reason all at once. This book doesn't explain how to identify depression or how to treat it. There are no answers here. It very simply tells the story of how depression sneaks up and overcomes. It is a first person account of sucicidal ideation.
