Last day of school for me Monday!! This is a good thing as I really am ready for a break. I have continued to take pictures but this Picture the Holidays class thing is not working very well for me. It wants me to post daily and to take shots that are staged… hard to fit in with my normal daily life. I have really enjoyed taking photos all year long. When I look at them in order, I see the story of my year. I also see photos of things I love and enjoy. I like taking good photos and I am loving the new camera and learning more about photography but I don’t really care about some of the photos that go with the prompts – they aren’t me. However, I am enjoying the opportunity to take a look at photos of others. I am stretching to use my camera more fully. I am figuring out the manual setting modes finally! I theoretically understand how and why to set things a certain way but in practice under pressure I am not fast enough to adjust on the fly. I am figuring it out as we go. However, the class is not that exciting. I am not a massive Christmas decorator so some of the prompts don’t fit for me. Otherwise, I am having fun and moving into relaxation mode! I need some time off to chill out and let go. I will be happy to clean and tidy my house and to catch up with some of the tasks I haven’t been able to do these last couple of weeks. As ridiculous as that sounds, it really is relaxing and refreshing to me! Good time to snuggle into a movie, a book and some house cleaning!
