1. I very much enjoyed going caroling with the Jolly Juniors 4-H club this past Sunday. I loved spending the afternoon with my husband and son and lots of friends as we roved around the town. Turned out to be an awesome weather day which turns out to be good for caroling to elderly folks as they can't stand around in the cold for too long. It was pretty tough going to visit the nursing home. Many of those folks seem so stranded and alone. I teared up a few times. Man, don't put me in the home! I know aging is a fact and that it is difficult but I guess I'd rather be at home or in a brightly illuminated place! I don't know how they stand the darkness, it was a sort of dreary place. I will need big windows and shining bright lights around me. It seemed that our singing was the best thing that had happened to them for awhile. I am glad that we went. The folks that could express did, small smiles and tiny hand waves were really rewarding.
2. Marcus, Marek, Alicen and I rang bells at the grocery store for Salvation Army. The first hour was pretty fun, if somewhat FREEZING!

We moved inside after the first thirty minutes and we were still cold. However, I was proud when Marek said, "Oh, well, it's for a good cause!" It is a good cause, the money collected in the red pot goes to the county where the red pot is based. Our county has many needs so more money to provide food and housing subsidies is a plus.
3. I was really struggling with some endless paperwork at school - still am actually. However, procrastination led to pondering and now, I'm off the hook for awhile. I thought of so many questions regarding the purpose and specifics of the task that I am now ordered not to complete the task until the questions are answered - next semester! I hope it all works out for the best. It would be super cool if I magically didn't have to do the paperwork - ha!
4. I'm moving into winter slacker mode for exercise which is a bummer but ... My weekly weigh in weight is holding steady! Yay no upward movement! This is amazing given the large quantity of dinners, parties and recently the fudge that I have been enjoying! I will have a great new routine for after Christmas.
5. After a tough talk with Marcus, things are going better. We were stuck in a rut there for awhile Communication is a good thing- healthy for all relationships. Good thing we love each other even when it's tough. We are on the upswing now!
6. We recently enjoyed a couple of excellent Christmas parties. It is great to have the opportunity to catch up with friends who have long (months go by soooo fast!) been out of touch. I really must make a plan for more friend time this next year. I think that it seems doable with focus and priority! After all, who really needs a clean house?!
7. I have actually enjoyed Christmas shopping this year. While I do usually find some joy in it, it has also been a chore, adding stress to my season. This year I shopped online! Like, wow! Easy browsing, comparing and poof - purchasing! A bit of in person shopping with plenty of time and no urgency to rush has been nice I love the Internet and my handy iPhone! I'll do more online shopping all year round!
8. I am missing some friends and faces that I haven't seen often enough in these last months. I am hoping to do some catching up in these next months. Looking forward to hearing some stories of life from my friends.
9. Looking forward to a lovely Christmas break, which will officially start tomorrow for me! Yay! After this month, I need it! I am confident that it will go by too fast. However, I am also confident that it will be divine!
Love to all, hope you have much festive fun in your futures!
