shoooeeee!

Well, it has been several weeks since I have blogged!  As ever I have been busy – maybe a bit too busy!  Actually, I have just been busy transitioning!  I’m not so hot at transitions and with a bazillion activities transitions are extra tough.  Somewhat overwhelming!  However, the tried and true technique of “plowing through” has served me well!  I feel that things are back in hand and the transition has been handled.  whew!  I thought today would be a quick catch up on highlights, events and thoughts of gratitude…IMG_1161

1.  Today was a beautiful rainy day.  When we were getting ready for school the sky was lavender!  It didn’t last long but it was cool.  This evening the rain broke so we took a leisurely walk and enjoyed to awesome sky!

2.  Labor day weekend was excellent!  It involved camping at the Leopold Conservation Education Area with Marek and one of his buddies on Friday Night.  IMG_1096 My friend Julie came out to hang out with us for awhile also.  It was a great night!  Fun, and perfect camping weather – chilly!  For real!  (haha! Julie!)  I really enjoyed the evening and the next morning when I hiked around with the dogs.  Nice to be relaxed!  IMG_1109

Saturday we switched it up and headed to the Manhattan area to camp at the Enoch Cabin.  Beautiful weather and good company.  Marcus didn’t have to work on Saturday so we were really happy to be able to visit with all the Enoch’s. It was the annual “Ribathon”!  Can’t beat a weekend with family, friends, ribs and beautiful weather!

DSCF9842  Marek and I also enjoyed a hike through the Enoch trails.  What beautiful country, the Flint Hills is just enough different from the Glacial Hills here in Northeast Kansas to be intriguing.  We hiked through the woods, down the creek and up a big rocky hill.  Great times.  We came home Sunday afternoon, dirty and tired but relaxed and happy.

3.  Sunday the September 5th was our 23rd wedding anniversary!  I am happy to say that I am still in love with my wonderful husband.  We have been through some great times and some pretty difficult times.  It’s pretty great that we have been together this long!  I’m grateful for Marcus!

4.  I’m grateful that I will get to travel to San Francisco for my job!  Working in public education doesn’t usually lead to out of state travel.  It will be an awesome National Conference with great opportunity to learn more about Character Education.  It will also be in SAN FRANCISCO!  I have only been there once, when I was 18.  I am eager to explore and visit the city again.  I am planning to connect with two friends from my past while I am there.  Yes, I sent them messages on facebook.  Connectivity!  I’m getting excited!

5.  School is going well for both me and Marek!  DSCF9659Yay!

We are already four weeks into the first nine weeks!  Wow, how time flies!  Things are going great for Mr. Sixth Grader.   He loves school and seems super pleased with how things are going this year.  He is a great kid!  We are so blessed with him!I am also happy with my situation, my classes are fun and exciting and my students are great.

6.  Marcus has hired another employee and that should make things great!  Back to the mostly day schedule!  Yippee!!  More family time coming up!

7. While life is sometimes stressful and overwhelming, it is more often glorious and fantastic!  Especially if you work from the perspective that all is to be enjoyed for each moment!  I hope that you are enjoying each moment and that your transitions smooth out into happy and relaxing times!
