Regrets, I’ve got a few….

In reality, I have some regrets, but mostly I try not to dwell on them as it serves no purpose whatsoever!  Also, this isn’t a blog about my past mistakes or my personal growth – usually!  Anyway!

I was thinking today (while riding my bike) that one thing I really regret is not learning to ride my mountain bike on the trails earlier.  It is soooooo much fun!  It’s fast or relaxing, challenging or easy and it’s outside!  It is awesome!  I am debating a new bike.  I have had the same old Schwin since 1987!  I actually love my bike and have had great success with it.  Some folks are bike snobs and think that you have to have a new 29’er (that would be the size of the wheel) but really, my bike works pretty well.  I sometimes have trouble with my shifter and jumping gears and it would be cool to have disc brakes to avoid the mud gumming up the brakes but… it’s not too heavy and I am totally comfortable with it.  It also happens to be paid for which is key in today’s pricey bike world!

Tonight I rode on the Lawrence River trails.  They are super fast and curvy, no rocks at all.   Tonight there was a bit of mud.  I wiped out spectacularly in some smushy mud but was unhurt!  Whew!  Happy to be riding again!  Hoping to go again tomorrow!  I was having so much fun that although I thought of taking a picture, I just kept going!

Ride on!
