Adventures galore! Yes, it was memorial day weekend and we planned an adventure. Marcus had to work (but, he has hired a new full timer so woohoo!) on Friday, Sunday and Monday so our adventure was Saturday. Actually, I planned a variety of adventures for the weekend to fill the gaps of Marcus working.
Friday Marek and I picked Laura up and he purchased his own IPhone. He was pretty excited about it. He will be obligated to pay for his own data plan as well. From there, we went on some errands finally arriving home to putter in the garden!! Woo! Actually, they watched a movie but I dug and planted and made some good progress on my garden projects. Love it!
Saturday Marcus and I enjoyed a date night with dinner out and going to see the Old 97’s! Excellent night!
Sunday we all went to church then Marek went to ball practice and I went out to set up the camp with Julie and her kids. Yay! By the time we were set up, I ran in and picked Marek up. We put the pop up up and hit the lake for awhile. We had a great time, good fire and good company. We magically woke up at 6am and determined that it was going to storm so we packed it all up. We were amazing! We had the camp packed up before the rain hit. We all ate a donut but gave up on the coffee as the wind picked up and started blowing. We loaded the kayaks and canoe in the pouring rain. I was very proud of Marek’s help, he is a hard worker and a giant kid – he picked up and carried the kayaks and schlepped the stuff in the pouring rain and cold. Helpful! We were home and changed by 7:45!
Although it was disappointing that we didn’t get to spend the day at the lake, we had a lovely relaxing – loungy day at home. This is good since BAM! big busy summer starts tomorrow! Gardening, getting myself back into shape now that I’m mostly healed, mother daughter retreat, a million baseball games, working the challenge course, rock band camp, going on the Geology Field Trip, kayaking, adventure racing, going on the National Youth Gathering and fitting in all the normal summer stuff like swimming and eating junk food and drinkin’ beer on the deck! Whoa! So many more adventures to come! I hope you are planning and having some adventures of your own! Do something fun today!!
