So today I am thinking about all of the things that make me wonder. Some of them are pretty awesome things, like how the sunrise and sunset create sooo many amazing colors in the sky. Others aren’t really that awesome and have to do with the fact that our society is full of discontent and dichotomous situations. I won’t trouble you with a list of the negative ones but the thought that we worry about fashion or having ice for our water when people in our own towns, our community neighbors, might not have any water at all … or food. Statistics indicate that an appallingly large number of children in America go to bed hungry. Not to mention third world countries where there is even less water and much of it is not safe to drink. I started to use the phrase – we all accept this situation – but really, I don’t think that we do. I believe that there are many people who are working to change these things. I also understand that it is hard to change things like this….. although I’m really not sure I understand why. Surely we could all agree that they should be changed, it’s apparently agreeing on how to change them that is hard.
Well, you see my wonderment on these things. On the positive side of wonderment….![]()
I think that if we focus on the positives in our world, whether they be naturally occurring or stemming from the actions of humanity we will be better served than if we continually focus on the negatives. It really doesn’t pay to be too cynical about humanity. Find something amazing, the sky or a human kindness and be amazed. In fact, perhaps today will be the day that you or I do something so kind and caring that we cause someone to feel wonderment! I’m going to give it a shot!
