I will work hard to focus on my family. Spending more quality time, being more patient, more forgiving, more loving. Less time with the TV, laptop, smart phone and more time playing games and talking!
I will work hard to strengthen my faith. For myself, my family and the youth group commitment that I have made. The LCMS National Youth Gathering will be in San Antonio July 1-5th and will no doubt be amazingly inspirational.
I will focus on developing an attitude of personal contentment. To be content is to be satisfied to the point where nothing disturbs you no matter what’s going on, but not satisfied to the point that you never want any change. Dictionary.com says content is: to be satisfied with what one is or has; not wanting more or anything else. Contentment is the state of being contented; satisfaction; ease of mind. Wanting things to get better is natural and good but where you are at each moment should be treasured as well. I recently read that “Contentment is a heart attitude.” That seems true and good.
I will work to maintain and improve my personal health and fitness. I feel better when I do and I love being active, being outside and hanging with my friends.
Well, there are a large number of things that I hope to do and not do this year. 2012 was actually pretty great while simultaneously challenging in many ways. I believe that I have learned from my mistakes and made peace with them so that I can move forward in 2013. I hope you have some positive thoughts and ideas to guide the beginning of your year.
