I am thankful for so many things. I have been, as usual taking some things for granted. I guess that that is human nature.
I am thankful for the wonderful day that I enjoyed last Saturday. It was my birthday and it was excellent. I haven’t reflected on that day here yet but it was absolutely wonderful. 98% perfect day with the family. First, I slept late! Then I had almost two hours to read and drink coffee while the guys slept later! Nice start to the day! We had a late brunch and then headed to the movie theater. We don’t go often, but we wanted to see the movie Courageous. It was awesome! I cried quiet a bit – sheesh! My wonderful mom joined us for the movie. It was a great movie about fathering and about parenting. It was also about living up to your responsibilities as a Christian and a member of a community. We all liked it. Needed some food for thought in the family environ and this did it. Loved the relaxed morning and afternoon with the family! Thankful for that!
After the movie we took a quick trip through Sam’s Club afterwards. I finally found some new glasses and got them ordered! Yay!! I have had a new prescription since August 30th and that includes some bifocals so I can read. Without them it’s not so awesome. I had bifocals back in fourth grade when I first got glasses, what goes around comes around, I guess. Can’t wait to pick them up. I will be thankful for good glasses so I can see and read.
We spent the evening with friends from church at the Middle school youth bonfire. Despite the almost continuous high pitched screaming, it was lovely. We just chilled around the fire and roasted some marshmallows. Nice, low key and a beautiful night.
Overall, for a 45 year old woman I feel great. Physically, emotionally and spiritually all was nurtured on my birthday. I physically feel better than I have in the past. I think that this helps me feel better emotionally. I am thankful for my family and ashamed that I do not behave in a thankful manner more frequently! Working on it as per usual!

PS Didn’t even mention that I received some wonderful gifts. An absolutely excellent telephoto lens for my camera. Pretty sweet! Thankful for my thoughtful husband! I also received my kayak – early but attributed to my Dad! Thankful! I got a lovely book and a neat quote plaque with some cash from my mom! I received a plethora of absolutely fantastic and heart warming facebook greetings – reasons to love facebook! Sweet messages from friends and family near and far! Thankful for a day of love from all!!
