So I have a few big ideas for the year. I'm not a super awesome list person so for me too specific might be too much. It's a whole year, things change! Also, for me, resolutions are about a change in outlook. A plan for an improved attitude or outlook on life Yes, behavioral but also a world view and daily life outlook. We will see!
My first resolution is: To live more healthfully. In order to live more healthfully, I will need to eat more s.l.o.w.l.y! I snarf my food down and keep moving. This means that I eat too much and it's just not good for you. I need to eat less which should be an automatic with eating more slowly. I generally eat healthy foods so that's already done. Yay! I should exercise more often and more effectively. I do pretty well at this but I'd like to be more consistent throughout the year so we shall see if I can exercise four times a week year round. I'm kind of close... I'll track this on my planner!
My second resolution is: To more thoroughly enjoy my family and friends. I obviously enjoy them all already but I would like to spend more time enjoying them especially without worrying about time constraints or the next task. I am planning to schedule down time for fun and relaxation with my peeps. This should improve all my relationships which is always a good thing! While, no doubt, this sounds both easy and possibly ridiculous to some, it might be hard. We are a busy family with a full life, I am totally type A personality and pretty task oriented, I have many commitments. I will be setting better boundaries about who, what, where and when as well as filling the planner with dates for fun. I love just going with the flow and can't wait to do it more often!
My third and final resolution is: To be more organized in all my life spheres. I know I just wrote about how much I love going with the flow but in order to do that I need to be organized. If I'm more organized at home we will have more flex time. We will also have more money because I would be organized about shopping and planning. I will be more organized with all my activities and that will help them run more smoothly so that there is more flex time. Good theory, huh? My "action steps" on this one are a little more fuzzy. I'll use my planner more effectively, I will devise a list making technique that will work for my multiple tasks. I'm not a fan of techno-organizing but maybe I'll try it.
Well, not too specific but good broad goals with some measurement potential. Mindfulness is half the battle for me so with these three resolutions in mind daily I am optimistic! I hope you are optimistic in the new year!
I am thinking I need a list of actual things I'd like to accomplish this year as well. Maybe I'll make that list after I cross a few tasks off my to do list today! Have a great one!
