#12 and a few more

Number #12 taken while at a Roadrunners hockey game. I will be forced to share more than one but my favorite is the official #12! I really just love the angle.

Marek is turning 12 this week so this was a portion of the celebration. He invited his friend Liam to join us.

Vuvuzelas!

The removal of the tape was hysterical. They both had white rectangles of new skin.

"Hey you! You, with the big head!". Marek keeping yelling at the mascot in his funny DeDe voice. Hilarious!

I couldn't resist this picture. What an awesomely groomed beard!! He was a good sport about the constant vuvuzela noise as well!

We had a great time. Prior to the game we had dinner at Applebees. Liam is Marek's friend from diabetes camp. This was the first time we have had him over although Marek has know him for a couple of years now. It's hard to fit him into our routine as he lives in topeka and attends a different school. However, it is SO nice to have friends who understand diabetes. Together the have a secret language consisting of phrases and jargon specific to diabetes. Are you high? Well, I was now I'm low! Check your BG. Did you bolus? I'm out of strips.... Well, you see my point!

Having understanding as well as other interests in common has made them fast friends. He is different than Marek's other friends older, interested in other things and he completely understands diabetes. I'm grateful for this friendship for my son!
