Tooosdaay…

Yo!!  Tuesday was good and Wednesday wasn’t half bad!  It has been a busy routine free time here in Denise land.  Crazy schedules are the norm!  However, all is well and things are looking good for this week.  I am feeling pretty busy but in control most days.  There are several reasons for happiness this week.

1.  Yesterday, I hot to teach the kids at Marek’s Diabetes Camp how to tie dye.  Whew!  Tie dying with a load of kids is A LOT of work, on the other hand it was pretty rewarding.  I enjoyed the chance to chat with all the kids and learning about their lives.  It is also fun to tie dye.  Gotta love it!  I was so busy that I didn’t even take a picture but I will have a finished product picture full of smiling kids by the end of the week.  The thrice rinsed shirts are heading for the dryer now!

2.  Today was lovely, I cleaned up the house and folded laundry.  I also finished reading my Barbara Kingsolver book, The Lacuna.  It was very good, I love Barbara Kingsolver books in general.  This was a different style for her, historical fiction set in the 30’s and 40’s.  Pretty interesting to me actually, viewing these big events through the eyes of a fictional but thoughtful man.

3.  Yesterday, I asked Marek if he was enjoying Diabetes Camp (12-5 each day this week) and he said, “Yeah, it’s the best ever mom!”

4.  I am looking forward to spending the afternoon with my mom Thursday or Friday.  We want to go to the Botanical Gardens in Topeka.  I am always happy to spend the day with my fabulous mom and gardens of any type are always on the happy list!

5.  I am looking forward to these camps being OVER Friday!  I love Marek having the opportunity to explore his diverse interests and Diabetes Camp is just amazingly awesome – on the other hand…. All this driving around and waiting in places other than my home are leading to me feeling slightly discombobulated.  I am ready for my true summer schedule to begin!  And it will, MONDAY.

6.  I am semi-motivated to reinvigorate my workout.  I have been too discombobulated to get a good exercise routine so I am making a plan to exercise daily again starting next week.

7.  I am looking forward, possibly strangely, to working the wine and beer tasting tent at Old Settlers on Friday night.  Should be a fun chance to chat with lots of different folks while listening to Marcus and Kirk play some acoustic music.  I hope it’s fun>

8.  Marek has already had one game this week and we have three more to go in the next three days.  Woohoo!  Love watching him play – oh, wait!  He has a broken arm!  It is not the same watching him be the BAT BOY… On the other hand, nice social time with a variety of people and I like to eat sunflower seeds so it’s all good!  I think I will take Pogo with me, she always adds excitement to events.  She thinks clapping is incentive for barking.

9.  I have had some time today to get a little back on track with organizing lots of stuff.  I took a bag to the thrift store for donation.  I have been gradually minimizing and cleansing piles – stockpiles.  Last weekend, Marcus cleaned out our master closet.  Whoa!  He emptied it, vacuumed it and moved the little desk in for our new “office”.  I am happy!  We got rid of some old unnecessary stuff and the “office” looks good.   There is more to cleanse, sort and find a place to store but we have started!

10.  It’s already THURSDAY and this week is flying past….

I am looking forward to seeing some friends within the next week or so for some fun times.  Can’t wait
