Yes, today was Marek’s birthday. Amazing, I really can’t figure out where the last 14 years have gone. So much time has passed so quickly, it is amazing.
Marek is a good son. Marek is sweet, kind, generous, caring, funny, smart, creative, musical, athletic. He is a good son and a good friend (to his friends, duh!). I really believe that he has solid core values and beliefs as is willing to stand by them. He is growing into a wonderful young man. I am proud of him. He is a variety of other things that are often maddening to me, it’s a teenage brain thing. Overall though, I couldn’t imagine a better baby boy!
Sadly, he has been sick since Thursday. It’s just like when he was a toddler, sick on his birthday! Bronchial infections suck. He is on a variety of asthma breathing meds. Conveniently, we decided not to have a big party – yet – since his new room isn’t done and that makes the entire basement a disaster. Basement disasters are not conducive to multiple boys spending the night! His room is shaping up, it is going to be an amazing boy/man cave! When it is done we will have a big party, with a bonfire and capture the flag followed by boys in the boy cave! We did enjoy a day in Lawrence with one of Marek’s friends (Laura) today. It was nice to have lunch and just randomly poke around the shops on Mass Street. The weather was amazing! Quality time just hanging out! Love my boy!!
