Tuesdays are for thankfulness!

Well, there is a blizzard raging all around me. A good portion of the country is getting a good walloping of snow, wind and freezing temperatures. Even with this weather, I have much for which to be thankful. In fact, the weather points out many things that are sometimes overlooked. Before I share my thanks, I must mention that I have photos number 13, 14 and 15 on my real camera so when I am reconnected to the Internet I will post! Meanwhile, I hope you are warm and safe and full of reasons to be thankful!

1. I am thankful for my warm and comfortable home. This includes my wood burning stove and blankies!

2. I am thankful for the food and clean water that I have in quantity! Delicious and nutritious offerings including fresh milk for my coffee!

3. I am thankful for my electricity! Yay! I mean really, candles and lanterns are for camping!

4. I am thankful for a job that gets canceled when the weather is this abysmal! Better safe than sorry I say! Or cold and wet and in a ditch waiting for a tow!

5. I am thankful for Kristin who has taught me yoga so I could do it myself at home on a snowy day!

6. This week I am also full of thanksgiving for Marek's recent check up at Children's Mercy! His A1C was 6.8 which is awesome! The goal is 7 or below so we are there! The doctor called him a "rockstar". The nurse, Ron, said to be grateful for good today. Sometimes better is the enemy of good so it's ok to be happy with good! (I might have to ponder this further because it is a great thought and observation!)

7. I am also pondering how thankful I am for Marek this week. He will turn 12 on Thursday! I am very thankful for my wonderful son! He is smart, creative, funny, individual and a JOY to my life! (No doubt I will ponder this more as well!)

8. I am also thankful for my wonderful husband and life partner. He is awesome but he is having a horrible day. My poor man has had snow problems this evening and is still plugging away. He has an excellent work ethic and sticks with things until they are fixed. This is something I am grateful for because he takes care of trouble. Gotta love that!

9. I am in general thankful for my whole life! It's a good life and on days like this when a warm house is so imperative it's more obvious than usual that I should be grateful for my family and life each day!
