Marek turns 12!

My son is turning 12 today!  It is truly hard to conceptualize that 12 years have passed since he was born.  Time goes by so quickly.  I have savored almost every minute with him.  (The minutes I wasn’t savoring I was most likely nagging or yelling.)  I sometimes hear mothers say that they would like to keep their babies, babies but I’m so glad that he’s growing!  Every single age and stage has been exciting and awesome and wonderful.  I have loved each of them and I eagerly anticipate the next!  (Well, maybe not so much the teenage years!)  I don’t want to rush him through anything, I want to enjoy every moment that I can.  I am looking forward to the way that our relationship will continue to change and grow. 
Marek is smart, funny, creative, athletic, kind, caring, empathetic. generous, just, honest and energetic.  He is a busy young man with many skills.  He is growing into a wonderful person.  I am proud of him for so many reasons.  I hope that he knows that I love him more than anything else and that I am in fact proud of his hard work and personal development.  Marek is eager to learn and to discover new things.  I love watching him try new things.  From the first baby steps and trying new foods to his first cooking project or making a great play in baseball.  I love that he is learning how to play the bass and how to cook.  I love that he is running on the treadmill for fun and that he willingly eats my weird 13 bean soup with spinach and peppers.  I love it that he is kind, caring and generous to his family, friends and even to strangers.  Marek is very giving.  He is also silly and goofy and sweet.
Marek is a great young person and I’ll bet he will be a fabulous adult.  He was an awesome baby, toddler, little kid and now he is an amazing tween.  Tween?  Well, I don’t really know what stage he’s at right now but it’s pretty great!  Can’t wait for each day to see him learning and growing!! I am THANKFUL for Marek.  Happy Birthday to my wonderful Marek!!  I love you very much!!
