Yikes! We have had sooo many snow days this year! It’s kinda awesome but it is also not that awesome as well. It’s better to have advance warning of a day off so you can make a plan. It’s also better to have a day off when the weather isn’t HORRIBLE! I have enjoyed some major relaxation during these snow days. Today I spent the day reading an entire book inside my warm and cozy home! I love Young Adult Fiction and I love the fact that Marek and I are enjoying so many of the same books. Today I read, “The Lost Hero” by Rick Riordan, Marek received it for Christmas. I started it a couple of days ago but took advantage of this day of snow to finish it. Rick Riordan is a new favorite YAF author, I love the fact that he is bringing the classic Greek mythology to life for me and for young readers. He wrote the Percy Jackson series of books – they are great! (If you saw the movie, it was NOT the same as the books!) If you like YAF check him out here at Rick Riordan's website.
I also vacuumed the floors and cleaned the bathrooms. This was pretty lame as far as house cleaning goes. With multiple snow days and a pretty relaxing week the house had already recovered from the tornado of last week. I also took a great walk through the woods. I am sincerely pretty sick of winter. It is cold, drab and messy! Also, there is NOT enough sun! It turns out that I really need sunshine to feel at my peak! We had a week or so of warming trend weather and it was sooooo awesome! I could go outside and see the sun. The beauty of the snow is that it is easier to go off trail and it is interesting in that it is silent. On the other hand, the warming trend allowed me to hear sooo many things in the wild. Birds, water and SUNSHINE! We enjoyed some walks over at the nature trail – I have missed it sooo much! See post labeled #36 for my favorite photo from the warming trend. I even had the opportunity to go wogging. I saw so many eagles, it was awesome!!
I even took my school peeps on a hike, there was lots of snow on the ground but the weather was warmish and the sun was shining!
Dreaming of spring fills the days for me. I don’t know! I love living in Kansas, so much beauty. The changing scenery across the state and the variable weather add to my pleasure. However, it would be ok with me if it was not quite so snowy and humid. I am also pretty sick of the mushy, slushy mess in winter and messy, dusty grime of summer. Ahhh, well, perhaps my ideas of Arizona are just from weariness! Meanwhile, I will hope that there are no more snow days and that the spring warming trend returns!
