Just another Monday! #81

It was a good day.  I organized my office and did some cleaning.  Only one more day with students then it’s a week of paperwork and I’m DONE!  I am ready for the summer this year.  I mean, really, at this time of year I am always ready for summer but this year seems more needed than ever.  It has been a very hard year for a variety of reasons.  I need a break.  I am giving thought to ways I can challenge myself professionally and stay within my current position.  I need to focus on a positive attitude, high performance and MOTIVATION.  I have admittedly been slacking off in some of these areas.  Possibly all of them.  UGH!  Time to re-assess!!  There are many, many things that I love about my job.  The idea of losing the things that I love has, to date, outweighed the things that I don’t.  From practical to sentimental, the reasons are deep and varied.  Just the other day a former student, now a grown up friend, told me that he would always stick up for me because I was the only one, other than his family, that believed in him and supported him.  He credits me with getting him through high school.  This is an amazing thing to me because he was a great kid and was overflowing with awesome.  He is now a really great grown up man.  This is the kind of thing that makes it hard to leave.  Even the lesser praise and thanks are reinforcing.  SOOOO… other than this ongoing ponder, things are moving forward.  Many things to ponder at this and every transition in life.
