Here is a shot (#83) of my new raised bed. I’m loving it. I hope my garden is awesome this year. Behind the raised bed I have my garden bench with peonies and hardy hibiscus planted. To the right are some thorny blackberries that are going to produce heavily any day now. On the left is a border of perennials to brighten my days and in the foreground are my tomatoes, peppers and basil mulched with straw. In the super-foreground that you can’t see are more blackberry bushes that will produce later. I’m excited because I have good stuff planted in the raised bed. I have more gardening to do but this is the first portion done minus the mulch on the raised bed. Soon…
Here is the shot (#84) I took tonight of Marek up to bat. He hit a foul ball with this swing and got on base with his next. Yay. I enjoy baseball season. I get to take pictures, chat with friends, see the kids play, eat sunflower seeds and be outside all evening. This year will be great because our games all start at 8:15pm so we are finally playing under the lights and out of the sun. I love sun but not necessarily shining on me while I watch baseball, it’s too hard on the boys. It is also nice to have a full day and evening to do random stuff and not really have to rush to make it to a game. Tonight I was the score keeper! I haven’t ever scored baseball before, it’s not really my thing to sit still and totally focus. You actually have to keep track of pitches as well as the hits and runs. Sheesh! Conveniently a just finished sixth grade girl was available to teach me how! Too funny! It was kind of fun to keep score. However, I enjoy watching, chatting, and taking pictures more. We will see how things go for the next 10 games, surely I will end up keeping score again!
I am also excited that we are going camping this weekend. Yippee! We will break in the new pop up camper with a couple of nights out at the lake. We are going to visit Milford Reservoir. It was one of the only lakes within a couple of hours where I could find a reservation with electricity available this weekend. It should be good, handy too since I will be doing the Sunflower State Games Adventure Race there later this summer. Marek is bringing a friend and we are hauling the motorcycles as well. The boys can hang out while we ride. I’m bringing the kayak to slide out onto the lake. I envision an early morning paddle while the guys all sleep late. I am eager to enjoy a relaxing weekend. We will head home Sunday for a party at a friends’ house then baseball again on Monday. It’s summer!
Hope you are happy with the activities and opportunities that are presenting themselves in your life! Make the most of each moment, they are short! Enjoy!!
