Summer time…

It continues to amaze me how every summer is different.  I have been very eager for the drought to break and while it is officially still a drought, it has been a very wet spring and cool June.  I have yet to get into any type of routine.  The first two weeks of June involved Marek in daily driver’s ed and various afternoon/evening activities each day.  I am now on Tuesday, the second day of no regular schedule, and I’m still trying to make some sort of daily routine.  Don’t get me wrong, in many ways it is great to wake up and randomly decide what to do each day but, ultimately it means that things that need to get done each day get lost.  Marcus has been working a ton of hours which adds to the unscheduled randomness.  I can’t believe that in ten days we leave for San Antonio to attend the National Youth Gathering!  Seems pointless to develop a routine until after we return – eight days later!

We are working on some baseball.  So far it is not too much ball.  Unfortunately, we aren’t doing so hot.  Also, Marek is feeling disappointed because he isn’t getting much playing time.  When he does get in the game, he feels like he is not warmed up and he makes mistakes.  So far it is disappointing but, it is still early.  I’m optimistic!

I am getting the yard under control a little bit at a time.  This is a good thing but a big undertaking – I need workers and several thousand dollars to get it all done the way I’d like as fast as I’d like.  Ha.  Marek and I started chopping down the jungle out back this morning.  Looks better already!

I still have to share the story of the Geology field trip and Richards Music Rock Camp but I'm getting closer to settling down for the summer.  Theoretically anyway!  Hope your summer is full of the fabulousness that you are seeking!!
