Boy Howdie!

Boy howdie! I have been SUPER busy this month! All good things but whew! Time to muse and ponder but not much time to blog... Here are a few of my ponders and events from the last couple of weeks...

I got pretty bad poison ivy on my eye last Friday. Cutting brush with the JDLA peeps, clearing trail. I love clearing trails but I'm not thrilled with poison ivy! I'm pretty savvy but I failed to wash my entire face after exposure - duh!

This is after two days of Prednisone. A thousand times better, I can open it! The red is actually pretty bright and alarming.

I have had the opportunity to participate in the JDLA graduation, hand out diplomas at the Oskaloosa High School graduation and this evening completion certificates to the Oskaloosa eighth graders! Talk about pondering change, challenge, committment and watching children grow! Memories of my own graduation. Friends. Things to ponder. Also, how expensive is college? What will Marek choose? Hmmm...

I have been working in the garden when possible.

I have a new garden pest - Pogo! She loves to drag stuff out of my compost pile!

I have finished all six books in the young adult fiction series by Rick Riordan. The series is Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Excellent, fast paced, creative stories incorporating old Greek mythology into modern day adventure! Read one today!

I have had the opportunity to gather with numerous friends for many activities these last weeks. I am thankful for great friends and family. Fun times, silly things and good conversation!

This is Julie. We went to a KU baseball game with our peeps. Fun! I have also been to a White Sox/Royals game and most importantly Marek's first game! They won but he got hit on the arm by a wild pitch. Now he has had an X-Ray.

He has a bad bruise, no break! Thank God! A splint for a few days nothing grevious!

I have been pondering summer and how to best use my time. How to enjoy productivity and how to best help Marek both enjoy and prepare for sixth grade?

Planning for The State Geology Field Trip - this takes lots of pondering. It will be our fourth year and I can't wait! It's a special trip for Marek and me with Julie and Tommy and other friends. Rocks, minerals and fossils, OH MY!

All these things and more have filled my time. I have however, continued to ponder my life, loves, choices and behaviors. So many things to wonder. I was reading about contentment, authenticity, shame and perfection today. Hmmmm...

Boy Howdie! I can't wait until June 2nd, my last day of work until August 9! Summer!
