a lovely evening…

Today was a good day.  I felt pretty good about how things went at work today – I really felt like some of my conversations were of quality.  I love the challenge of trying to think of what to say or of interventions that might be useful for someone.  Really, my job is about 50% supporting teachers!  It is a tough job to work with tough kids or with difficult administrators and they work hard.

After work, I hit the Chiropractor for a little knee, hip adjustment.  Dr. Chris reports that I have a tendon that is inflamed on the back of my left knee.  Yowzers.  I guess I will go with the ice technique this week and see if it feels better.  Even though it hurts, I am still moving.  I led the second cardio class tonight.  I really like cardio bootcamp style because it is very adaptable to different fitness levels.  Now that I have seen the same group twice, I think we will toss out some kickboxing next week.  Yay!  It seems to be going well.  I felt like I got a decent workout and that I helped some others get a good workout.  Then I came home and wogged my mile.  Whew!  So thankful that we are going with the mile a day commitment – I saw an awesome falling star tonight.  Beautiful!  It fell for so long, it was amazing.

After that, I baked and hung out in the kitchen with Marek.  We were baking some brownies for Advent service at church tomorrow.  The youth will be serving dessert before service each week for a free will offering.  The money we make will help pay for our trip to the National Youth Gathering in San Antonio.  I am getting pretty excited about attending the Gathering!  It looks like we will take 8 youth with us (Mark, the “primary adult” leader)  and I will that is.  I tease him because his name tag says “primary adult”.  Ha.  I’m good with that!  The kids we are planning to take are pretty cool kids.  The majority are young – 2 who are just finishing 8th grade, 3 just finishing 9th grade, a sophomore and 2 juniors. Should be fun.  But back to my story of this evening!!  Marek and I worked together to make some brownies and we had fun doing it.  We also made some blueberry muffins for breakfast while we had the oven heated up.  Marek said, “thanks for making brownies and stuff with me mom.  I had fun.”  L.O.V.E.

Meanwhile, I am reading a good book, icing my knee and cranking out some 4H work this evening.  I’m ready to head to bed now for some relaxed reading and lights out.  Tomorrow is another full day.  Hope your days are full of joy, laughter, love and fun.  Really.
